A curated, free monthly design meetup that ran 200+ editions across Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.
DesignDay was a curated monthly gathering for designers across disciplines. Each edition followed the same format: a design story to get inspired, a skill talk, a hands-on jam, then lunch and real conversation.
No sponsors controlling the agenda. No sales pitches. Just designers getting better together.
In 2012, India's design ecosystem was fragmented. There were talented designers everywhere — but no regular space where they could come together, share work, learn from each other, and push the craft forward.
DesignDay was founded to be that space. Every third Saturday, for five years, it happened. Talks on typography, product thinking, motion, branding, furniture, illustration, UX research, and everything in between. Hands-on workshops. Honest critique. Community that stuck around long after the event ended.
"Design in India doesn't have a shortage of talent. It has a shortage of community. DesignDay was our attempt to fix that — one Saturday at a time."
